Favorite Pizza Place? JAKES!!!

Oh, man! I found someone on page 4 who loves Jakes as much as I do! Jakes is the best pizza ever. So, if you are ever in Green Bay, WI, perhaps to watch the Packers kick some butt, I recommend you eating two things: cheese curds (Dykesville Bowl is the best for that), and Jake's pizza.

Regarding the previous message... That was a generous compliment from a great graphic artist. I think that Jokava's vision and style are unique, and he's a great artist. He's going to be famous one of these days. I'm the one who wants to tap into his brain for some ideas, but I'm flattered that he likes some of the things I've done. I am finally getting comfortable enough with some of the programs out there to move on to the next level, and I'm always trying to learn more. As soon as I get the time, I'll add some tutorials showing how I do some of my favorite Web and graphic design techniques. Many of the techniques I use probably are used by many other people, so I don't want to show tutorials that are the standard ones. So, it'll take some time to get a tutorial section going. (And I still have to finish the pizza section and begin working on the sports section of the homepage.) One tip: You can do a lot of creative stuff with the basics. All you need to write a great novel is a pen, paper, imagination, and basic writing skills. You can also do a lot of great stuff with basic Photoshop techniques (and some Freehand work). For example, simple blend changes and different opacities helpp create some cool effects. You can learn a lot just by trying to make from scratch something you see on the Web. Fiddle with all of the features of your programs, and over time you'll get better and better. Now, if anyone out there is willing to teach me some new tricks, send me an e-mail!! Gracias Jokava.

Hi Dave! Just stopping by to say hello and to see if your doing alright. Everything is cool on my end. I was wondering if you were ever considering sharing some of your design secrets? Your work is so clean and professional looking. I am guessing that you used Illustrator on a few of your pieces, and I'd like to learn a lot more about Illustrator so I can make those clean looking graphics as well. See ya later Buddy! Peace.
