About Dave

Dave enjoys sports, fitness, pizza, music and guitar playing. One of his favorite sports is rolling from one end of the bed to the other end while screaming at the top of his lungs at his cute wife to get him a beer. That's coordination. Well, maybe not. Another favorite sport is running his mouth off about the billion tax laws passed by Congress each year - all in the name of tax simplification. Guess what Dave's profession is and win a prize!

To maintain his health, Dave performs the recommended number of repetitions of 12-ounce curls and travels many times to the kitchen and back to the living room couch on Sundays. Dave also enjoys coaching sports. He used to coach soccer at one of the top sports high schools in the U.S., and basketball at a lesser known school program, and will get back into coaching after a brief number of years concentrating on improving his guitar playing. Dave can't dunk a basketball, but his 6' 7" kid has an easy time of it on his college basketball team. His other kid is a 6' 2" high school student/musician/athlete. New kid #3 will be joining Dave and the crew in March. He'll be measured in inches for a while. The kids might be smarter and faster than pops, but Dave has the secret weapon (deep rib pokeys).

Dave currently is studying the guitar with a guitar professor who earned a music degree many, many, many, many, many years ago at the famed Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University. Scales, Arpeggios, modes, voice leading, fingerpicking, jazz, blues, fusion, and funk haunt Dave seven or more days each week. Currently, Dave is working on John Morgan's "Journey," a Rick Ruskin song called "Return of the Flute," and Acoustic Alchemy's "Natural Elements." He's also finishing up book 1 of the Berkelee Method series, and working through Sal Salvador's single string studies for the guitar.
