For many years people have been telling me about their favorite places to eat pizza. Pizza may seem like a trivial topic, but there are more than 61,000 pizza places in the United States alone. Pizza making is a profession for millions of people around the world, and almost everyone thinks it is one of the world's best foods (except for my oldest son who could take it or leave it). The search for the world's best pizza may seem trivial upon first glance, but pizza has opened the door to a world of new experiences.

For example, the quest brought me to Florence, Italy, where I was able to experience the paintings of Boticelli at the Ufizi, Michelangelo's magnificent David, and the impressive Duomo. I was also fortunate enough to learn some Italian and play soccer with professional players for one memorable summer. If you think about it, has there ever been a more noble quest? (Don't answer that!) Enjoy your pizza and enjoy these pizza pages.
